Clear and Plant this Black Moon, A Ritual

New moons are always the perfect time to plant seeds and begin new things, but first we have to prepare the soil (yes, still!) I know we’re antsy to plant but preparation is key.

So here is a new moon ritual for tonight, to do just that. And because why not, let’s plant that seed too!

You will need

-a bowl of water

-paper

-water soluble marker (crayola, not sharpie!)

-a seed

Fill your bowl with water (bonus if it’s rain water, or river water, but not necessary). On the piece of paper draw a stick figure in the middle. Surrounding this figure, write down what you need to release for your dreams to take root. This can include bad habits, outdated ways of thinking, etc. Space them apart appropriately because next you will tear the words off the paper leaving the person in the middle.

Next, let’s release! Place the strips of paper in the bowl of water. As you’re placing these in the bowl then make sure you let your fingers linger in the water and imagine these things being energetically drawn out of your fingertips as the ink disappears from the paper.

Once this is complete, set the water aside. Take some time and a few deep breaths and create your new reality. Draw, write, or somehow otherwise dream up and record what you’re hoping to manifest for the coming season of life. Don’t worry about the how and no need to be too specific on the what (manifest a new car, but not necessarily a new BLUE car). The most important thing is FEELING it. How will you feel once you are in this new reality? Sit with that until there’s a BIG smile on your face, knowing it’s already in existence and you just need to step into it.

Once you have a clear vision, let’s plant that seed. Time to head outside!

First things first - dispose of your water. Take it outside and pour onto the ground - NOT WHERE YOU ARE PLANTING YOUR SEED - and as you dump it give gratitude for how all that you’ve released has served you and offer it to the earth, knowing the earth will be nourished by and transmute the energy.

Now. Find a sweet little patch of earth an

d put a seed in it. As you do so, think or speak blessings onto the seed, “I can’t wait to watch you grow. You are beautiful and bountiful.” Be assertive! Don’t give it the option to fail by saying “I HOPE you flourish.” Let its flourishing be guaranteed with your belief.

After the seed is planted, find a quiet place and let go. Let go of the how, of expectations and find trust in the universe. I recommend this song.

Happy new moon, and come back and let me know how the ritual felt. Then come back a while later and let me know how all these dreams are coming true.
